Mark Doyle - Retail Displays & NSW Sales Rep at Festival Records

Mark was in retail sales and part of the mighty sales team across the 90's.
Mark loved all music espically Hunters & Collectors. While Mark was in treatment for cancer he was invited to a Hunters & Colectors gig. Little did he know it ended up being a personal gig as the band rehersed the full set for that nights show.
Sadly Mark died of cancer at a young age in the late 90s.

Allan Thompson - Fitter & Turner, Steam Hydrolics Manufacturing Festival Records Plant in Pyrmont.

Allan Thompson passed away on Wednesday morning 23th May 2018.

Allan Thompson Festival recAllan Thompson Festival

Allan Thompson was the longest employed member of staff at Festival Records Pyrmont.

We last saw Allan in his wheelchair with breathing assistance from his oxygen bottle at the 2017 reunion. He spent many years in and around the record presses & factory.

Allan commenced with Festival when located in Phillip Street and only retired when the Company closed.

He was a trained fitter and turner and became expert in all the factory requirements not the least of which were steam and hydrolics that was used in the record presses.

A very competent and considerate “can do man” he was the maintenance “boss” from the day he started until the Company closed its Pyrmont factory.

He passed away after a short stay in hospital from an ongoing medical condition at the age of 89.

The attached photo from our last Reunion & the Ryde Reunion shows Allan in great spirits as he loved the company & colleagues he worked with. His wife & partner Hazel were together for over 70 years  (who pre-deceased him). He is survived by Julie and Peter.

He kept the vinyl manufacturing process running with the many others in the factory team. A long term dedicated employee in the Festival Records factory.

Allans family advised Meryl that he had a picture by his bed side in the hospital of the 2017 group reunion photo.

The funeral will be held on Thursday 31st May 2018 10.30am at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, South Chapel, Camden Valley Way, Leppington.

Peter Campbell South Australia & Melbourne Sales Rep & PR Manager.

Rip Peter Campbell FestivalPeter Campbell passed away on Friday 13th April 2018.

We last saw Peter at the 2017 reunion during his treatment. Peter was battling bowel & liver cancer. Peter was admitted into palliative care, prior to that he had been at home with Debbie.

Greg Foster & John Lee visited him on Monday plus a phone call from Meryl on Wednesday. Once again remembering all the great times and long lasting friendships as part of the Festival family.

A message from Peters wife Debbie.

It is with a heavy heart our family advises of Peter's passing at 11:15 last night. I have lost my best friend & soulmate & James & Rachel have lost the best father.

Peter lived for his music & loved reminiscing about his old record days. He loved all of you special people with a passion. To think he didn't want to join FB. I joined him up knowing that he would enjoy this group. He loved it.

Thank you for all kind words & support throughout this difficult time. We will have an update in the coming days about funeral arrangements. Love Debbie, James, Emily & Rachel.

The funeral has been announced and will be held on Monday 23rd April at 12:30 in Heysen Chapel, Centennial Park Pasadena, Adelaide.
